2023 Fuel Cell Digital Twins - Machine Learning to Accelerate Next-Gen Fuel Cell Design Our vision is to achieve zero-emissions megawatt-scale fuel cell propulsion systems for regional aircraft markets utilising an innovative digital twin approach to rapidly design and control our system. In this project, building off of a previous project funded by Innovate UK Fast Start programme, we will develop a digital twin of connected surrogate models to accurately simulate the multi-physics behaviour of the fuel cell more time- and cost-effectively than traditional methods. The expected outputs will start us on our journey towards a ‘Digital Twin’ toolset to inform the design of new, innovative megawatt-scale fuel cells with improved performance and reliability. Electric Aviation Group Ltd SME TRIG
2023 Conformable Pressure Vessel Array We will develop and test a conformable pressure vessel concept to demonstrate improvements over traditional pressure vessels in both improved capacity in complex shaped areas and in cost of manufacture. This will entail baselining a basic pressure vessel to show that by making a conformable vessel we have removed no performance. Composite Braiding Ltd SME TRIG
2023 Mobilise EV Charging  Uptake of Commercial Electric vehicles (CEVs) vans and trucks is very slow compared to cars. This is largely due to the limited range of CEVs (120/140 miles) and the lack of suitable charge points. We will address this by placing a battery powered EV charger into CEVs giving an extra 35/45miles allowing for a return to base or find a suitable and working EV charger. Drivers will be trained in new driving behaviours, so they understand what actions affect range. New skills will enable them to mitigate negative actions that reduce CEV range. This will accelerate the adoption of CEV. SUN HARVESTER LTD SME TRIG
