---|---|---|---|---|
FCO | Africa Polling, Research and Focus Groups | £400,000.00 | Commission a series of 18 nationwide opinion polls, cyclically refreshed at appropriate regular intervals, spread across six population centres in Somalia, including at least four in areas formerly occupied by Al Shabaab. The questions will need to be agreed by HMG, donors and the Government of Somalia, and designed to enable policy makers, as well as the international community, to gain an objective understanding of public perceptions on a range of issues. | Feb-13 |
FCO | Somalia London Conference | £450,000.00 | Capitalising on the success of the 2012 London Conference on Somalia, the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary are using the UK’s convening power to hold another conference in 2013. The distinctive difference is that this conference will be co-hosted with the new Government of Somalia, will represent a new spirit of partnership between Somalia and the international community, and will focus on delivering coordinated international support for the Government of Somalia’s priorities: creating stability and security; and strengthening governance and Somali institutions. Communication activities will be an essential part of securing these outcomes, including expenditure on media facilities at the conference | Apr-13 |
