The MWS is headquartered in HMS Collingwood, Fareham, but oversees training units across the UK. Training is provided in warfare, weapon engineering, diving, Physical Training, Chemical Biological, Radiological, Nuclear damage control, as well as fire-fighting, sea-survival, seamanship and military skills. Responsibilities for command of HMS Collingwood include duty of care & facilities management functions for Phase 2 & 3 Warfare & Weapon Engineer trainees & a multitude of lodger organisations. As COMOT, commands Royal Naval maritime training delivery across specialist individual Surface and Submarine Fighting Arms and in maritime collective Tier 2/2+ generation, developing coherent, optimised training for maritime operations and contingent capability. Operational sea training is delivered by Flag Officer Sea Training, Captain (South) in Devonport and Captain (North) in Faslane. Joint Training and Exercise Planning Staff (JTEPS) are responsible for plannning and delivery of joint live collective capability exercises/training.
