The application for funding of £40.5m was submitted to Cabinet Office to enable continued delivery of the PIP IT system from 1st July 2012 covered: 1. The continued delivery of the new PIP IT system. 2. The continued delivery of changes required to be made to existing benefit IT systems. 3. The continued building and provision of test environments. 4. A further commitment to the procurement of User Licences. 5. Continued work to determine the specification of the IA Tool. Personal Independence Payments Programme Cabinet Office approved £40.5m for delivery of PIP R1 for the period to 30th September 2012 for the delivery of the PIP IA and to 31st October 2012 for the delivery of PIP R1 to cover multiple contracts. The application for funding of £13.2m was submitted to Cabinet Office to enable continued delivery of the PIP IA from 1st October 2012 to 30th April 2013 and covered: 1. The continued delivery of the design of the IA Tool. 2. Initial analysis to determine the requirements to change existing benefit systems and the new PIP system to ensure information can be transferred and shared as required between computer systems and the IA Tool. £13.2m for PIP IA for the period from 1st October 2012 to 30th April 2013 £10m. £9.5m for PIP IA + £0.5m to comply with the Cabinet Office request for acceleration of the digital strategy. This funding to be used as an interim to cover the month of October, pending further consideration of the request for £13.2m Sep-12
